Overpriced, terrible customer service. Would not recommend! Visited this shop in Muswell Hill for my niece’s 1st birthday and left feeling completely ripped off! £15.99 for ONE helium balloon, only to then be charged separately for the string and weight! A separate small pink balloons pack apparently wouldn’t last until the following day unless we paid another 30p PER balloon for gel. Then came additional charges for weights and even 50p for a bag to stop the balloons flying away. Every little thing was an extra charge. Absolutely ridiculous! It just kept coming with no shame. We even politely asked if they could fill our own number 1 balloon with helium, which we were more than happy to pay for, but were bluntly refused. To make matters worse, the woman serving us had an awful attitude. She kept following us around while we waited, watching our baby in case she touched anything, and even referred to her as having “sticky fingers”. If you don’t want mothers and children browsing, perhaps don’t run a toy shop. We eventually went to Market Hall in Wood Green, where a lovely lady charged us just £9 for THREE helium balloons, including weights, AND kindly filled our own balloon. Included weight, bag and string. The difference in price and customer service was unbelievable. I have no issue paying for a service, but the constant additional charges, unpleasant attitude and complete lack of customer care made this a horrible experience. What should have been a lovely shopping trip for a baby’s first birthday was completely soured. Overpriced, unwelcoming and certainly somewhere I will never return to or recommend.

A little gem and treasure in Muswell Hill! They always have the best birthday balloons, cards and toys! Today is the first time I took my little dog there, he was treated so nicely with fresh water in this terrible heat!! A great experience and thanks to the owner and shop keepers. ❤️

I’m really glad I came across this shop. It can be on the pricey side of things; however having said that, all items are of high quality, something other gift shops in Muswell Hill doesn’t have. It’s definitely one of the best gift shops in the area, beautifully laid out and has some really cool board games for adults. Definitely coming back here 10/10

Fab! Used them as wanted to use a local Toy Shop for balloons for my daughter’s 3rd Birthday. The owner (Jenny) responded to my enquiry really promptly and was super helpful. The staff couldn’t do enough to help and we were delighted with the balloons they prepared. My daughter loved them too! Highly recommend. To add tried many online stores who didn’t reply or weren’t particularly helpful so I’m happy I went with local and independent. Thanks again!

I made an online order with Cachao Toys after looking for a specific item online which seemed like it was out of stock everywhere! It was processed and sent on the same day I ordered, packaged beautifully and arrived safely. Extremely happy with the service, thank you!

I’ve had such a wonderful experience shopping here! On Tuesday I bought a Jellycat, and one of my students noticed that part of the logo looked slightly faded. It was such a subtle detail that I almost felt embarrassed bringing it up, but when I called them and went back to explain, the staff were kind and understanding, and they quickly exchanged it for me. I also want to highlight that I have absolutely no doubt about its authenticity, as this shop is an official Jellycat retailer, it just gave me extra peace of mind for the future if I ever decide to sell it or give it as a gift. In one week alone, I’ve already bought four Jellycats from this shop, and I’ll definitely keep coming back. Highly recommend for both the lovely products and the fantastic service!

I've been visiting this shop since it opened and love it! It's stocked with such lovely things - great for parties as well as children's gifts, cards for all ages and of course it's the go to place to buy balloons. Love seeing people coming out of the shop with their balloons! The staff are great. Really friendly and helpful and always give great gift ideas. We're so lucky to have an independent business like this in Muswell Hill.

Every time I come to Muswell Hill, I visit Cachao Toys. The owner is just so lovely, warm and friendly. This time I bought my grandkids a Vespa like scooter. They love it!!!! They take turns. One rides the Vespa, the other rides a regular scooter. It's a blast watching them!

Old fashioned toy shop, and absolute joy! Staff friendly and very helpful. One gentleman was being helped to purchase a birthday present for his 6 year old granddaughter. But be warned its not cheap.

Nadia Yahlom

They have a really beautiful selection of toys, arts and crafts and party supplies and are always so kind, thoughtful and helpful. They seem to genuinely enjoy interacting with customers and kids (even when the kids are stroppy or complaining!). We often nip in for something small and end up sticking around and browsing. Would love to see more wooden / sustainable toys down the line.

I live in Australia but my Son and his family are living in London. After going to the post office and finding out my parcel to my 5 year old Grandson would not reach London in time for his birthday, I searched on line for some local London toy stores. I came across Cachao Toys and made contact. I received Jennie's reply promptly. She was SO helpful and after choosing a present,Jennie arranged the wrapping and a card to be delivered to my grandson in time for his birthdayl. So impressed. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.

Jenny was so helpful - sending me lots of gift ideas by email. The toy choice was great too. I thoroughly recommend her shop.

Esther Posner

Contacted Jennie, who is extremely helpful and lovely to deal with, to get supplies for a distanced 21st birthday celebration on our front door step! So prompt and delivered locally at no extra charge. Gorgeous party fare, unusual and very pretty things that you don't find in usual party shops. I would thoroughly recommend for all balloons also, having had several failed attempts with online party stores, all requiring minimum charges, high delivery costs and one who didn't let me know balloons not in stock until day before needed. Jennie sorted that one out in her own time the same evening.

Deborah Young

We have had fantastic service from Cachao toys. Jennie could not have been quicker or more helpful. The beautiful Elsa -type dress is a massive hit, as are the puzzles. I cannot praise the shop highly enough, it gave remote toy shopping a lovely friendly feeling. Thank you!

Neville Young

A ridiculously likeable, friendly and helpful toy shop. Just a delight. Online during the current - er - difficulties is great but it will be even more lovely when the physical shop is fully open once more.

Callum MacNeill

Really great customer service during this tough time. Brilliant communication and able to meet my needs in accessing birthday supplies for my sons lock down birthday. The website works well and she was quick to communicate any issues and let me know when she was adding more balloons! Highly recommend.
