Cachao started off  as a family business in 1997 in Primrose Hill selling chocolates, home ware and sweets. We also served coffees, iced drinks, crepes and bagels. The warm welcome everyone received at Cachao Cafe, along with delicious food and drinks, proved to be very popular with the locals who would come in everyday and persuaded us to expand our menu and our gift selection. Year on year the business (and family) grew. In 2002 we decided to create a children’s department in the basement. Having two children inspired most of my choices! This was the beginning of what would soon be the toy shop. Which managed to get its own space next door in 2010, expanding the well loved brands and finding lots of new ones, leaving the cafe to thrive in its own space and grow even more. In 2015 I opened a second toy shop in Muswell Hill, where I live and my children are in school there. I felt there were a lot of like minded people who prefer quality and good service, and knew I could create the same excitement there.  At the end of 2016 the lease expired for the original shop in Primrose Hill, or the cafe, as people came to know it. After 20 years, my parents and I decided not to continue. It was a big part of the community there, so we are very sad not to be there, but still manage to catch up with all the regulars who come into the toy shop.
One thing continues throughout, good quality products and warm customer service. Whether it’s a cappuccino or a doll’s house!
